Merry Christmas

This year we did a lot of traveling for the Holidays.  We started our Christmas parade in GA with Jerry's family at Thanksgiving and we've kept it running right up until Christmas day making a stop in TX with my family along in the way.

Jerry, CJ, and I were showered with gifts and love - as always our families do too much.  Jerry and I bought each others gifts this year from very specific lists (and possibly online links taking us right to the necessary item - yes, necessary) and we got exactly what we wanted!  CJ was treated super well by Santa this year and mom and dad.  He is now the proud owner of a Red Rider BB Gun, which for anyone my age brings visions of A Christmas Story to your mind, "you'll shoot your eye out..."  Here's hoping that is NOT true.

Last night we sat down as a family and watch A Christmas Carol (with George C. Scott for it's the only version worth watching) and relaxed on Christmas Eve awaiting Santa's big arrival.

Today, there is a 13lb turkey and dressing in the oven basting for Christmas dinner and the radio is playing festive tunes.

My devotional this morning was entitled "Remember Me" and at this time of the year, it is important to remember WHY we celebrate;  the birth of Jesus Christ.

So this short little blog is to say Merry Christmas to one and all, may you each enjoy the blessings I have this festive season.

Just a note - as I write this CJ is driving his new spy camera car into my office to check out what I'm doing.  Trying to decided if that was the best gift for an eight year old boy!  :-)  (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa)

  1. In our defense - the spy gear was on "The List"!
    Grandma and Grandpa :)

  2. And he loves it!!! The dogs, however, hate it! :-)
