Day Sixteen, Poetic Asides with Robert Lee Brewer - PoetryChallenge2011

Poetic Asides with Robert Lee Brewer - PoetryChallenge2011

For today's prompt, write a snapshot poem. When I think of snapshot, I think of a photograph or painting still life. The poem would bring this particular moment to life. However, if you have another interpretation, I encourage you to follow your muse.

"Summer Sunday Afternoons"

Mornings of praise
develop the days,
lazy haze
of pondering what's great.
Of thoughts profound,
slumber abounds
with sunshine and
baked beans,
BBQ dreams, corn steamed.
Peace.
Where new thoughts bloom,
friends swoon,
love ensues...
on summer Sunday afternoons.
