A picture is worth 1,000 words. This quote is attributed to about 20 different people including a Chinese Proverb, Confucius, and an American man named Fred R. Barnyard in the advertising trade journal Printers' Ink, promoting the use of images in advertisements that appeared on the sides of streetcars. The December 8, 1921 issue carried an ad entitled, "One Look is Worth A Thousand Words.". I don't know that it warrants continued research with this much discrepancy, but; a picture can be worth 1,000 words and I intend to find out.
I stole this idea from the illustrious Facebook courtesy of a friend's husband. I'm sure they won't mind - I left a note on the profile that I had every intention of snagging this idea for my blog.
What I see before me is an opportunity to get personal with a few things, and more importantly, people, in my life. I love writing (and pictures) and this is a great way to combine the two. I hope you enjoy the next 30-days of my life blog. And I hope I can keep it going for the entire 30 days! I don't perceive writing 1,000 words about every picture, so no fear that I will drone about minimal ideas just to fill the space.
For each new day I will create a new entry: Day 1, The 30-Day Challenge and so on. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments!
